Love the 86. Love the culture, but as the proud owner of a 2015 Scion tC, I
can assure you, it won’t touch my car around the track, or a straight line.
😛 Gotta have your facts straight on that before you go making claims haha.

Yeah, my Miata will destroy an AE86, but the Corolla has so much more
charm. I miss mine, but wouldn’t trade my Miata for one.

I see these on Craigslist every once in a while (not actual JDM ones, the
american Corolla GTS/SR5 version). It astounds me how much they go for
sometimes. I have seen just the chassis in good condition go for 5 grand
because it had the Tofu delivery paint. You could have a Corolla one year
outside of the generation with half the miles and it would go for half the
    price of an AE86/AE88.

For the kind of money you would spend to get a good one of these you could
have an NC miata, have more fun, safety and power while not having the
realization one day, two years later, that you have been driving around in
    a gimmick.

i think that car needs a serious alignment, that steering wheel WTF

This, the R34, and the Mark IV Supra are cars that annoy the hell out of me
simply because of the JDM fanboyism behind them. They are great cars, but I
swear there are folks who would perform cunnilingus on a goat just to back
    one out of a driveway.

how is driving with the wheel on the wrong side? I’m left handed but i get
the feeling using the shifter with my left instead of my right would
    be….weird.

Compact cars in the 1980s were not fast (Note the 4.0L Jeep Cherokee was
one of the fastest vehicles on the road) but they were terribly fun to
drive because they were not bloated. My 1989 Subie DL was a blast to drive
and while it only had 92 hp and it was only moving 2800LBs of car. Those
days will never return. Every compact car on the road today will need a
ton of aftermarket suspension parts to firm up the soggy rides to make them
feel like the 1980s Sentras, Corollas, and 323s. The modern motors are
amazing, but the suspensions really suck (I am looking at you, Ford Fiesta
    SEL).

    on this channel.

You keep hinting at the Grand National in a bunch of videos. When are you
gonna find one to review? We need a GNX video like we need to breathe, and
all of your videos are waterboarding us.

I don’t get what the big deal is… it has the engine note of a B Series
Honda, does the quarter mile like a stock 240SX, and theres almost no room
inside of it… its a well designed well rounded car, don’t get me wrong…
but to call it legendary… is a disgrace to true legendary cars such as
the Supra RZ, Ford GT, Porsche 959, Ford RS 200, Skyline GTR-R34, or the
    already mentioned Buick GNX.

I’d love to hear your take on a 2nd generation(88-91) CRX Si if you can
find one close to stock. I would offer mine, but it hit a wall about 6
    years ago…

The air filter has rotted out, the tires are underinflated, and the
steering wheel is crooked. This guy doesn’t deserve to own that car.

To be honest, 4AGE has the best inline 4 sounding ever apart from the
subaru of course and the Kseries engine with J’s racing exhaust. But still,
    4AGE is inline 4 eargasm!
